Overview
ABC Towing is a leading provider of towing and roadside assistance services, known for our professionalism, reliability, and customer-focused approach. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our team.
From time to time, you will be required to assist the transport team with enquiries, bookings, and quotes. As such, familiarity with transport or logistics operations is beneficial, as the role also supports accounting functions directly related to towing services and fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
* Prepare and maintain purchase orders and ensure accurate tracking of purchases
* Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies
* Process payments in a timely and accurate manner
* Monitor and manage outstanding debtor accounts
* Perform bank reconciliations and assist with end-of-month reporting
* Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding account queries
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
* Answering phones, filing and general administration
* From time to time, you will be required to assist the transport team with enquiries, bookings, and quotes.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar accounts receivable/payable role
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks – specify if known)
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
