The Network & Infrastructure (N&I) Division of the PTA has two exciting opportunities available and are seeking applications from highly motivated, dynamic and experienced professionals.
The Roles
There are currently two permanent, full-time vacancies available for filling within the Asset & Engineering Management Branch.
Level 6 – Infrastructure Control Operations Lead
In this role you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Infrastructure Control teams within Network Control Centre in delivering key Infrastructure and Operational objectives. In addition, you will be required to leads the delivery of monitoring, control and coordination, and safe operation of critical operational infrastructure assets, including operational assets across the PTA network, access to sites and maintenance activities across the PTA Network. Furthermore, you will lead the N&I Incident Management process and provides PTA support in an emergency, in particular through the recovery phrase.
To be successful in this position you will have:
1. Substantial knowledge and experience working within a complex high-risk SCADA and asset intensive environment, such as however not limited to.
2. Traction distribution SCADA controlled environment relating to 25KV rail overhead systems, HV and LV power.
3. Tunnel ventilation system management, fire detection and suppression, related life safety and hydraulic systems.
4. Experience in leading and / or supervising an operational control team in a safety critical environment.
5. Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence across all levels in an organisation.
6. Demonstrated ability to write concise and well-structured technical reports.
7. Demonstrated ability to Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated ability to provide conflict resolution, mediation and counselling
Level 5 – Senior Infrastructure Controller – Fire & Lite Safety
In this role you will be responsible for the monitoring, control, coordination and the safe and effective operation of critical operational infrastructure assets (fire and life safety, hydraulic and ventilation systems) including operational assets across the PTA network and access to various sites. You will also be required to manage incidents and coordinate emergency situations and response with minimal impact on operational performance across the network including organising, coordinating or leading on integrated system testing for multi-disciplinary assets.
To be successful in this position you will have:
9. Considerable experience with safety critical systems, such as permit to work processes involving the isolation of hazards.
10. Substantial knowledge and experience in a high-risk SCADA controlled environment, such as tunnel ventilation system management, fire detection and suppression, related life/safety systems, hydraulic systems and considerable knowledge and experience in their operation.
11. Proven ability to read and interpret technical instructions, schedules, diagrams, manuals, SCADA mimics and other associated documents and systems.
12. Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to: Build and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders;Negotiate with and influence across all levels in an organization; andProvide clear advice, direction and feedback to emergency personnel and maintenance staff.
