Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their goals and overcome life's challenges? We invite you to join our team as a Driving Instructor, where you'll play a vital role in empowering youth aged 16-25.
Our Drive for Life program, part of The Salvation Army's Youth Stream, aims to provide young people with the support and resources they need to gain their driver's license, independence, and confidence. As a Driving Instructor, you'll be responsible for guiding clients through their journey, assessing their progress, and developing personalized plans to help them succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and support to clients, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these needs.
* Liaise with local transport authorities, driving instructors, and volunteers to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
* Manage lessons, logistics, and client progress, ensuring timely completion of objectives.
* Recruit, support, and match volunteers with young people to complete logbook hours, fostering a sense of community and connection.
* Develop strong relationships with local stakeholders, promoting collaboration and partnership.
* Engage daily with young people, providing individualized support and encouragement.
Requirements:
* A working knowledge of issues faced by young people disengaged from mainstream services, including those at risk or experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, mental health issues, low literacy and numeracy (desirable).
* Knowledge of WA transport Driver's License processes (training will be provided).
* Current driver's license.
* Current Working with Children Check.
* Current First Aid Certificate (able to obtain within first three months).
* Mental Health First Aid Certificate (desirable).
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
