We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to oversee a children's home in Tamworth. The ideal candidate will have expertise in residential childcare and a passion for providing high-quality care and support to young people.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring that all young people's needs are being met, and recognizing changes in behavior that may include updating young people's individual risk assessments/care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* To manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home.
* To safeguard and promote the welfare and development of all our young people.
* To ensure that all young people's needs are being met and recognize changes in behavior that may include updating young people's individual risk assessments/care plans.
* To ensure that the team is providing a safe environment that is meeting the needs of the young people that we are caring for.
* To undertake supervisions with senior support workers and residential support workers and recognize strengths and weaknesses within the team that need addressing to support professional development.
* To be proactive in responding to safeguarding concerns in the home and follow the correct processes in place.
* To assist the manager with interviews and safer recruitment checks.
* To complete the rota for the home ensuring that the correct staffing levels are maintained for each young person.
* To act as a key career or supporting key career for our young people and build good trusting relationships.
* To update care plans and risk assessments and put child-focused plans in place to best support the young people to flourish and grow.
* To ensure that the team and young people are feeling supported in stressful situations.
* To develop and maintain good working relationships with other professionals.
* To ensure that all policies and procedures as well as risk assessments are adhered to.
* To ensure that any safeguarding or child protection matters are reported to the manager.
* To ensure that any incidents, accidents, or restraint forms have been correctly written and been passed to the manager within the agreed timescale.
* To be aware of the health and safety regulations particularly as related to the upkeep of the building and its surroundings.
Requirements:
* 2 years experience.
* OFSTED Experience.
* Level 5 in Leadership & management or equivalent.
* Full UK Driving licence.
* Clear DBS.
