Design Manager - Tier 2 Builder - Commercial Projects Up To $300 mil About the Business
Our client are one of Australia's leading Tier 2 main building contractors. They specialise in commercial, government, data centre, education, industrial and health projects. They are seeking a design manager to join the business to help support with continuous growth and recent project wins.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Design you will be responsible for managing design consultants and the client throughout the bid process and the construction delivery process.
* Manage and oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects
* Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the project will run timely and cost-effective
* Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
* Advise on project design schedules and budgets
* Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
* Advise on buildability and methodology
* Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
* Identify and resolve design-related issues and elevate issues to senior management as needed
* Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
* Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities
* Manage the design process, including design development, design review, and design approval
About You
You will ideally have worked at a commercial builder in a Design Manager, Project Engineer, or Design Coordinator role. You ideally have experience with projects in the pre-construction and project delivery phase. It is essential that you possess strong communication skills and can manage multiple internal and external stakeholders on the project.
