People and Culture Coordinator – Brisbane Airport
We’re looking for an experienced human resources professional who has a passion for people and who is keen to share their knowledge of performance management and their industrial relations expertise to guide our network of managers and supervisors. This role is based on-site and is an integral part of our national People and Culture support team tasked with providing HR support services to our Cleaning & Maintenance staff and Management across the International, Domestic and Commercial precinct at Australia’s third largest airport.

About you:
You will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a generalist position with exposure to industrial relations including award/agreement interpretation. You will be a positive and organised individual who has an eye for detail in documenting policy and procedure, managing performance management investigations ensuring natural justice applies, and making recommendations for systemic change where relevant. You will be able to demonstrate that you are a motivated self-starter with proven initiative and have a willingness to share ideas and debate issues to achieve the best results for our employees, our clients, and our company.
You will possess
- Tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations, law or business -related discipline or graduate with extensive experience in the facilities management, labour hire, security or aviation/maritime security or cleaning industries
- A good understanding of Awards/Agreements and general industrial relations instruments including the fair work act, and the NES
- A full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Recruitment experience
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
- Excellent organisational skills and capable of meeting deadlines with an ability to plan and prioritise own work
- Exposure to employee onboarding, time and attendance, kiosking, and payroll software – we use Kronos, ADP, JobAdder and MYOB
The Position
As the People and Culture Coordinator you will be responsible for:
- Guiding and monitoring supervisors and managers in relation to performance management
- Interpreting various awards and agreements, including but not limited to those based on the Security Services Industry Award, the Cleaning Services Award, the General Retail Industry Award, and the Clerks Private Sector Award
- Managing all facets of employee relations including administrative hr functions and auditing of HR activities
- Developing and maintaining a corporate program relating to HR activities including an online presence that caters to diverse groups of employees including training programmes, cultural activities, succession planning, and reward and recognition
- Contributing to and managing special projects
