At Homes North, we believe everyone deserves a safe, secure place to live — and you can help make that happen. We're looking for a proactive, community‑minded Property Operations & Performance Officer to help us maintain high‑quality homes and create safe, welcoming environments for our tenants.

This role is a full-time position, based in Tamworth but will require regular travel across the New England region spanning to Moree and Tenterfield.
What You'll Do
* Oversee the safety, presentation and general upkeep of Homes North properties and grounds
* Coordinate contractors for landscaping, maintenance and timely repairs — including works on vacant properties
* Conduct regular property inspections to identify hazards, maintenance needs and compliance issues
* Ensure all property activities meet legislation, building codes and safety standards
* Support audits and implement corrective actions where required
* Build strong relationships with tenants, staff and contractors
* Manage accessibility modifications and sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, waste reduction)
* Develop and maintain planned maintenance schedules and monitor property condition
* Provide guidance on property systems and respond professionally to tenant enquiries and complaints
What you bring
* Experience in property, facilities, asset management or a related role coordinating maintenance with contractors
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities with confidence
* Clear, professional communication — you build rapport easily with tenants, contractors and colleagues
* Ability to interpret and apply legislation, safety standards and organisational policies
* A practical, solutions‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail
* Confidence coordinating contractors and ensuring quality, timely work
* Competence using digital systems, property management tools and Microsoft Office
* A commitment to safe, accessible and sustainable housing
* A current driver's licence, plus WWCC and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
