We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for a specialist civil contractor delivering infrastructure and renewable energy projects across NSW.
This role supports a major $8m stormwater and culvert package within a broader civil program and offers a mix of Sydney-based work (approximately 30%) and regional NSW site delivery (approximately 70%) in the Riverina / South West Slopes region, suited to someone who enjoys being close to delivery while still engaging with project planning and coordination.
About the role
* Support end-to-end delivery of a stormwater package involving installation of RCP, RCBC and HDPE pipe networks.
* Coordinate construction of associated precast structures including headwalls, wingwalls, apron slabs and subsoil drainage.
* Oversee day-to-day delivery of drainage line crossings under rail and road (public roads, private roads and level crossings) across multiple design packages in accordance with the BoQ and measurement rules.
* Manage localised excavation to formation level, bedding preparation and engineered backfill to specified compaction requirements, including backfilling to 300 mm above culverts and tying into surrounding earthworks.
* Supervise installation of subsoil drainage and slotted HDPE longitudinal drainage lines in line with the pricing schedule and design documentation.
* Track program and cost at site level, coordinate subcontractors and support the Project Manager with reporting, quality documentation and risk management.
What you’ll bring
* Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer on civil infrastructure projects with a strong focus on drainage, culverts or utilities.
* Solid technical understanding of RCP/RCBC culvert construction, HDPE pipework, earthworks interfaces and stormwater systems.
* Ability to interpret design drawings, BoQs and scope documents and translate them into clear work packs and site instructions.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, delivery-focused approach in major infrastructure environments.
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and familiarity with relevant standards and specifications.
