Why we have this role

This newly created role reports to the COO and is all about helping shape and strengthen the club’s approach to risk and compliance. You'll work closely with different parts of the business to make sure we’re meeting our regulatory obligations, while also encouraging a culture that sees risk identification and reporting as part of everyday operations.

This new role will

•Keep our risk management framework ticking along smoothly — think of yourself as the club’s safety net.

•Make sure we’re playing by the rules across the board — from liquor and gaming to WHS, privacy, and everything in between.

•Roll up your sleeves and run regular compliance check-ups to catch any risks or red flags early.

•Be our go-to contact for regulators — prepping submissions, handling audits, and keeping things inspection-ready.

•Keep our policies fresh and up to date — you’re the master of document control and policy housekeeping.

•Help manage incident reporting and follow up with investigations and smart fixes.

•Run bespoke training sessions, provide updates and notices that actually make compliance engaging — giving our team the know-how to stay on track.

•Team up with management to spot potential hiccups in operations and map out ways to stay ahead of them.

•Help shape Board and Executive reporting with sharp insights into risk and compliance activity.

We’re on the lookout for a sharp, solutions-driven professional who loves the buzz of a fast-paced environment. Here’s what we’re hoping you bring to the table:

•Experience in compliance and risk— bonus points if it’s in hospitality, gaming, or another highly regulated space.

•A solid grasp of the rules and regs — from Liquor & Gaming NSW to AUSTRAC, WHS, and the Privacy Act.

•A keen eye for detail and a knack for making sense of complex policies and legislation

•Great communication skills — you’re just as comfortable chatting with a regulator as you are with frontline staff or the exec team.

•A high level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential info.

•Club or hospitality experience? That’s a big plus (but not a dealbreaker).

•The Successful person must complete and pass a fit for purpose test to be suitable to fulfill the obligations of the role.

•Competency with analysing data and strong investigative skill

•Very high level attention to detail and accuracy

•Tech savvy and able to navigate monitoring and management systems

•High level confidentiality and integrity
