Environmental Officer
About the Role:
This role involves working closely with local governments and regional operations teams to address waste and pollution reports.
You will prioritise tasks, monitor workflow and deliver front-line regulatory operations aligned with the strategic priorities of the organisation.
You will service rural councils and work in regional areas which may require travelling long distances and overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of the Officers for the Protection of the Local Environment Program
* Implement regulatory actions to prevent harm to communities and the environment through education, engagement, compliance monitoring and enforcement actions
* Collaborate with co-regulators, duty holders, communities, local governments and other partners to enhance environmental and public health outcomes
* Contribute to a positive team culture and improve teamwork practices
Skills and Qualifications:
* Completion of Authorised Officer and Field Response Officer training or ability to complete it within a reasonable timeframe
* Ability to deliver regulatory operations to meet organisational objectives
* Proficiency in applying relevant government legislation regulations and procedures
* Knowledge of local government and environmental regulation related to pollution and waste is desirable
