Working in close partnership with the CEO, the National Sales Manager is accountable for designing and delivering a commercially robust national sales strategy that accelerates sustainable, profitable growth across own brands and private‐label programs in both Grocery (Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Costco) and Specialty (Petbarn, the Reject Shop) channels.
Success in this role will be measured by sustainable revenue and profit growth, strengthened customer partnerships, and consistent role‐modelling of the company's values in all customer interactions and internal decision‐making.
Responsibility
* Own customer and channel strategy end‐to‐end
* Lead joint business plans, range reviews and trade terms; expanding distribution and share of shelf; improving margin mix and forecast accuracy; and championing an exceptional customer experience with our strategic partners.
* As a strategic, data‐led leader who is equally comfortable executing day‐to‐day, the National Sales Manager will build and develop a high‐performing sales team aligned to the company's growth ambitions. They will embed disciplined account management and pipeline practices and work cross‐functionally to deliver NPD and commercial initiatives that strengthen brand equity and support long‐term strategic objectives.
* Deliver "go to market" plans that support portfolio growth in line with the business objectives
* Develop plans to leverage private label and increase instore presence
* Design promotional and execution programs to maximize sales and profitability
* Implement best in class activations for all major launches by working collaboratively with marketing, sales, and field teams
* Conduct in‐depth category analysis to identify issues, opportunities, and recommendations
* Develop tailored best in class bid and proposal submissions and frameworks that demonstrate innovation, marketing prowess and brand alignment
* Maintain an up to date understanding of competitor knowledge, contemporary practices, and market opportunities.
* Working in partnership with the Operations Manager and Production teams to ensure the delivery of product on a right first‐time basis meeting customer requirements
Experience Required
* Successful track record of driving and delivering sustainable results in Sales or Category management within FMCG
* Must come with Corporate Grocery experience (i.e. Woolworths and/or Coles)
* Advanced business and financial acumen
* Experience in developing and leading a team
* Strong capability across forecasting and commercial management
* Strategic planning and implementation experience
