We do this by managing a diverse portfolio of businesses, which includes recycling in South Australia and Queensland, retail, and activity centres / campsites in the Adelaide Hills, Riverland and Eyre Peninsula regions.
Scouts SA is seeking a hands-on Corporate Accountant to capture financial results and deliver monthly reporting across the business. This is a key role responsible for preparing accurate and timely month and year-end results, supporting budgeting/forecasting and management of cashflows.
Working closely with business managers and volunteer leaders, the successful applicant will be self-motivated, have strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with a continuous improvement mindset. The role offers variety, impact and will take responsibility for maintaining finance systems.
The position is part of the larger finance team dedicated to creating a positive impact for South Australian youth and the wider community. Our culture encourages teamwork in an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare month end reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
* Prepare monthly financial analysis and commentary for variances
* Partner with business managers and volunteer leaders on finance processes
* Maintain finance systems (including Oracle NetSuite)
* Support budget and forecasting process for whole of business
* Manage operating cash position
* Prepare investment capture and reporting
* Support AP / AR processing
* Problem solve and provide solutions for financial queries
* Prepare year-end reporting including reconciliations
* Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
* Monitoring and build-on existing financial controls
* Support financial compliance requirements i.e. GST, FBT
About You:
* Degree in Commerce/Accounting, with CAANZ/CPA studying or completed desirable
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
* Excellent communication, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals
* Experienced in financial reporting and budgeting
* Comprehensive understanding of Australian accounting standards and compliance
* Experience with Finance systems (Oracle NetSuite desirable)
* Independently motivated, with a flexible approach and positive attitude
* Proactive and continuous improvement mindset
