As a trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced horticulturalists, developing essential skills in planting, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, and propagating plants. You will also gain hands-on experience with light mechanical equipment, such as brush cutters, hedge trimmers, blowers, spray equipment, rotary hoes, and chainsaws.
This comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and expertise needed to succeed in the horticulture industry. You will learn how to maintain garden beds, landscape features, and plant collections, as well as assist with irrigation and drainage maintenance.
* Develop skills in horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, weeding, and fertilizing.
* Maintain and improve garden beds, landscape features, and plant collections.
* Operate a range of light mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
* Assist with irrigation and drainage maintenance to ensure optimal plant growth.
* Perform general cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of park infrastructure.
