You assist in managing a team of 15 across two dining periods (breakfast/dinner) and work closely with both the front and back of house teams.Our food philosophy is Food. Thoughtfully Sources. Carefully served.You will report directly to the Chef de Cuisine/Executive Chef and support in supervising and managing the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.Some Of The Responsibilities IncludePrepare, create and present all dishes for the restaurantEnsure all dishes from the section are prepared consistently and according to standardAssign responsibilities to subordinates and to check their performance periodicallyAssist in maximizing employee morale and productivityReview and analyze menu’s, recipes and food to determine costs, profitability and success of the outletAssist in the training and guidance of culinary employeesConduct monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and suppliesWhat You Will Bring To The RoleHatted restaurant experience would be advantageousCertificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)Previous supervisory experience in a hotel or similar position in a fast-paced environmentQualifications / certificates in HACCP, local Food handling & Hygiene would be advantageousA strong attention to detail and the desire to produce high quality operational and administrative outcomesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead a teamThe ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of 5 star grooming standardsThe flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster including public holidaysJoin us at Hyatt and make travel more human.
