We deliver long day care, preschool, family programmes, and early intervention services across Australia.

The Role

We are seeking an cutting-edge, strategic, and collaborative Business Development Manager to join our team on a full‑time basis. This role is remote based with regular travel to current and potential sites across Greater Melbourne region. Occasional interstate travel may be required. This role is currently offered on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract.

As a key member of KU’s Business Development Team, you will drive growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing tenders and grants, and building partnerships that align with KU’s strategic vision. You will combine strong analytical skills with sector knowledge to shape sustainable expansion.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage tender responses, EOIs, and grant applications aligned with KU’s strategic priorities.
- Analyse demographic and geographic data to identify growth opportunities.
- Utilise project management expertise to deliver new services within timeframes and budgets.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across government, commercial and community sectors.
- Prepare high‑quality business reports and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
- Interpret and present datasets using Excel and other tools to inform planning.
- Contribute to consultancy projects and partnerships that enhance KU’s position in the early years sector.

Key Criteria

- Deep understanding of the early years sector at management level.
- Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including experience with demographic/geographic data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data interpretation.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability in report writing and business communication.
- Tender writing experience highly desirable.
