Due to an increased demand within our business, SYPAQ is seeking Expression of Interest for a Senior Software Engineer to work with a large Federal Government Department. This is a contract opportunity of 12 months plus up to 24 months of possible extension options. This role is based in Canberra and offers an immediate start.
Overview
As a Senior Developer, you are responsible for aligning your work to the development standards, frameworks and ensuring efficient code is created using established best practices. The senior developer is critical in fostering a collaborative development culture and driving technical innovation within the section.
You will guide and mentor team members, ensuring efficient development, timely delivery, and the overall quality of the delivered technical solutions. You will ensure all technical activities align with strategic product goals.
In addition, you will foster strong working relationships with other developers within the section and branch, sharing knowledge, ideas, and best practices to enhance collaboration
Key Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To
* Provide technical advice on proposed solution.
* Produce fit-for-purpose code that is secure and using set coding practices/processes.
* Participate in peer reviews of code and embrace constructive feedback where necessary to ensure high quality code is developed.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical and/or security application documents.
* Implement new functionality within a multi-tier enterprise environment, this includes front end web development, server-side development and database design.
* Investigate and resolve issues that are found in the developed solutions.
* Contribute to the planning and implementation of solutions by working collaboratively with numerous stakeholders.
* Provide technical advice about technologies that could potentially be required to be incorporated into solutions.
* Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
* Deploy solutions during go-live windows to multiple environments.
* Work closely with the Lead Developer to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
* Create technical/release documentation.
* Mentor and upskill APS staff to deliver outcomes in accordance with product goals.
* Contribute to planning team workloads.
* Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.?
* Effectively collaborate with a cross-functional teams working within an agile structure.?
Technical Skills
C#, ASP.Net, client-side frameworks experience in an Enterprise environment, SQL Server, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Azure DevOps, GIT repositories, PowerShell, React, SharePoint, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Responsive design principals, Creating and executing unit testing (jest)
