Responsibilities
Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers.
Conduct root cause analysis, fault-finding and diagnosing efficient solutions to machine breakdowns.
Install, remove, inspect and repair mechanical spare parts like bearings and seals on typical mechanical equipment.
Perform major overhaul of equipment with or without external contractors and vendors.
Disassemble, reassemble, observe, repair, test, collect data and prepare reports on equipment related to maintenance tasks.
Maintain non-electrical safety, process and utility equipment.
Perform rigging and lifting for safely handling heavy machinery and materials.
Advise and assist engineering and scientific professional staff in the design of advanced and complex mechanical equipment or systems.
Troubleshoot process equipment and automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line.
Ensure products meet compliance regulations and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Carry out work instructions as given by Supervisor, work specifications, and equipment operation.
Support improvement projects and fabricate/repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
Control downtime by performing routine preventative maintenance, daily equipment inspections, and monitoring machine performance.
Perform duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures, and install/commission new equipment as directed.
Understand customer change requests and provide schedules.
Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
Knowledge in a wide variety of machine diagnostics software is highly regarded.
Documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance service history.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Safety-conscious mindset.
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable.
Good work ethics.
Salary: Between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum + Super.
