StateCover's purpose is to keep people safe, well and working. A SIRA licensed specialised insurer, we deliver workers compensation insurance solutions exclusively for local Government in NSW.
As a Mutual, we work differently. We're trusted partners to our Members (insured local councils), collaborating closely to protect their workforce and minimise the impact of workplace injuries.
The opportunity
We're seeking a tech-savvy safety professional for a distinctive two-phase role. In the first 6–12 months, you'll champion our custom WHS platform (BeSafe) driving Member adoption and maximising system utilisation. This role will work alongside our BeSafe Manager and team of Safety Specialists to ensure members receive maximum value from the platform. Once this foundation is established, your role will transition into a comprehensive safety generalist position, where you'll partner with Members to identify safety challenges, enhance performance, and cultivate a stronger safety culture.
This diverse role centres on building strong, trusted relationships with Members through:
* Supporting Members to drive safety improvements and change
* Providing specialist safety advice tailored to their specific needs
* Developing and delivering targeted safety programs, services, and training
* Preparing high-quality reports and resource materials
Your story
You bring substantial experience in safety operations, ideally within local government or similar sectors. Your comprehensive WHS knowledge spans relevant legislation, hands-on experience with WHS software platforms, and practical implementation of safety management systems. You thrive on applying this expertise to train, support, and empower others in achieving optimal safety outcomes. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you can effectively influence stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation.
