Pakenham & District Basketball Association is seeking a motivated and community-focused Community Sports Administrator to be a key point of contact for our basketball community. This role plays a vital part in supporting participants, families, schools, clubs, volunteers, and association partners to help create a positive, inclusive, and well-organised basketball environment.
The successful applicant will combine strong customer service skills with experience in community sport administration and a passion for grassroots basketball.
Candidates must have 1-2 years of community sport administration experience.
A minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience is required.
Certificate III/IV level qualification is the minimum education requirement.
Key Responsibilities
· Community Engagement
· Act as a primary contact for members of the basketball community, including players, parents, coaches, volunteers, schools, and partner organisations
· Work closely with local schools and association partners to support basketball programs and initiatives
· Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful basketball environment across all programs
· Assist with community events, programs, and development activities
· Administration & Customer Service
· Provide high-quality customer service via phone, email, and in person
· Respond to enquiries related to registrations, competitions, programs, and general association matters
· Maintain accurate records and databases, including participant and program information
· Support competition administration and general office operations
· Assist with scheduling, communications, and reporting as required
· Operational Support
· Support the delivery of association programs, including domestic, representative, and community programs
· Assist with problem-solving and issue resolution in a calm and professional manner
· Attend meetings, events, and programs as required, including evenings and weekends
Essential Requirements
· Experience in community sports administration and/or customer service
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
· Current Working With Children Check
· Current First Aid Certificate
· Current Driver's Licence
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
· Basic knowledge of basketball is sufficient for this position
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Experience working within a basketball or sporting association
· Knowledge of basketball competitions, programs, or pathways
· Experience working with schools or community organisations
· Confidence using registration systems, databases, and Microsoft Office
