Our client is one of the largest and most recognisable retailers, moving significant product volumes across global supply chains. The business operates one of the country's highest-volume import programs, supported by strong upstream processes and automation. With ongoing growth, the team is bringing in short-term customs support.
About the role
This is a temporary Customs Support position covering a recent departure in the team. The role is available to start as soon as possible and will run through the Christmas shutdown period, then resume mid-January through to mid-March. After March, there is scope for extension or a potential transition to a permanent role.
The work sits within the in-house clearance process. Your role is to review that information, ensure accuracy, and lodge entries through the
Cargo Online Lodgement System
.
Key responsibilities include,
• Reviewing and reconciling documentation.
• Lodging entries through COLS.
• Preparing and submitting documents to Australian Government agencies.
• Managing quarantine requirements.
• Identifying missing or incorrect documents and coordinating corrections.
• Supporting a high-volume import workflow.
• Ensuring compliance across all customs and quarantine steps.
This role is based in Southeastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
Skills and experience
Must haves
• Experience with quarantine requirements.
• Strong document preparation and compliance checking.
• Ability to lodge entries through the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS)
• Confidence working with high-volume customs documentation.
• Ability to identify missing or incorrect information and request updates.
• Strong administrative accuracy and productivity.
Nice to have
• Classifier or Complier background.
• Exposure to customs entry workflows, duty payments or clearance processes.
• Experience with Expedient or other customs software.
• Previous experience in a large import environment.
• Ability to pick up systems quickly, with interest in automation-led processes.
