Overview
Our client is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a multi-disciplinary team in one of Cairns Hospital's district sites to provide back-fill for existing staff temporarily. The position will be based at Mareeba Hospital in the geriatric ward, across the sub-acute rehabilitation unit, commencing immediately until the end of June.
Location & details: Mareeba Hospital, Cairns & Far North | Travel & Accommodation | Start: Immediate until end of June | Salary: $55 – $65 p/h + Super
Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in community and hospital settings.
* Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to promote recovery and independence.
* Collaborate with other allied health staff to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
* Work cooperatively with service providers, clients, carers and families, including those from Indigenous and CALD backgrounds.
* Perform initial assessments, functional assessments, cognitive screening, home visit assessments for safe discharge planning, delegation of tasks to Allied Health Assistants, goal-setting, and participate in weekly Case Conferences with MDT and Geriatrician.
* Provide services in inpatient, outpatient clinic, and community settings.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to meet QLD Health credentialing requirements.
* 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
