Position Overview:
As a key team member of the machining team at our Geelong facility, you will be responsible for coordinating our Tool Marshalling area. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining CNC machine tooling, fixturing and machine accessories, managing tooling stock levels, as well as producing machine parts to the highest standard, consistently meeting our clients’ detailed specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and run tool marshalling area.
* Maintain durable tooling.
* Maintain tooling storage and dispensing system.
* Maintain manage machine accessories and fixtures.
* Applying your technical knowledge to correctly select and use appropriate measuring equipment to ensure your work is compliant with specifications.
* Working alongside your team mates to make a positive contribution to the group’s output and results.
* Set fixtures and dimensionally inspect parts.
* Select and use the appropriate measuring equipment.
* Read and understand engineering drawings including a comprehensive understanding of GD&T.
* Requires high attention to detail and working to high tolerances.
Required skills, experience and qualifications:
* Trade Qualification: A relevant qualification in CNC machining or Cert III Engineering (Fitter and Turner preferable) or equivalent in Machining background
* Technical experience: Min. 3 yrs. experience in CNC machine setting, operation, drawing interpretation, use of measuring tools, etc.
* Solid experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills – big or small - within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Experience with Okuma machines highly advantageous..
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* A flexible, adaptable and team-oriented approach
