We are seeking an experienced economist or forensic accountant to join our research team as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the expanding research program focused on understanding and disrupting the financial underpinnings of illegal wildlife trade.
The successful candidate will be appointed to a two-year fixed-term, research-intensive position supported by an ARC Industry Laureate Fellowship. The role offers close collaboration with forensic scientists, conservation biologists, criminologists, economists, and policy experts, providing a highly interdisciplinary platform for conducting impactful economic research.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting in-depth analysis of illicit financial flows, trade-based money laundering, and the economics of transnational environmental crime;
* Developing and implementing innovative research methods and tools to trace and analyse illicit financial transactions;
* Collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to design and execute research projects;
* Communicating research findings through academic publications, presentations, and reports;
Qualifications: A PhD in applied economics, forensic accounting, ecological economics, criminology or a related discipline; demonstrated research ability in the economic analysis of illicit markets, financial crime, trade economics, or related areas.
