We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Oyster Processor to join our processing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality, cleanliness and consistency, and enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of oyster processing, ensuring product quality, food safety and workplace standards are met at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing the oyster processing area in line with company standards
* Splitting and packing oysters
* Operating the oyster rumbler
* Monitoring product quality and reporting any issues or opportunities for improvement
* Ensuring correct product handling, storage and cold chain maintenance
* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
* Correct knife handling, storage and maintenance
* Wearing, cleaning and storing PPE in line with company expectations
* Completing all required paperwork in line with Dispatch, QA and Supply Chain processes
* Following all SOPs, food safety and workplace health & safety requirements
* Supporting other operational areas and completing non-standard tasks as directed
About You
You will bring:
* Oyster shucking and processing skills preferred
* Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work autonomously while also following direction
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work
* Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines
