Our team

Mission Community Care is a team of passionate and enthusiastic Support Workers, AINs, Social Workers and Domestic Cleaners comitted in making an impact. We prvovide services to NDIS, Aged Care and DVA clients. Mission Community Care is agile and continuously improving with everything we do to ensure; our clients have an excellent experience in every interaction they have with us. We are currently seeking an Australian female support worker with local knowledge and the capacity to work with clients experiencing various mental health conditions, such as Autism, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), early dementia, social anxiety, and schizophrenia.

The ideal candidate must be patient, professional, and be able to manage clients with behavioural challenges with a high degree of skill and empathy. We are primarily looking for a reliable support worker with great work ethics and contactable on the their mobile phone .

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide Assistance with Daily living. Which may include General Cleaning, Dusting, Floor Mop, Vaccum, Re-organise furnitures and Pantry, De-clutter fridge. serving and preparing breakfast.

- Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks including employment, in home support and community access.

- Provide direct assistance to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed.

- Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures and client right's policies including privacy and confidentiality.

- Work with clients, family/ carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client's individual goals.

- Ensure completion of appropriate documentation. Create Shift notes, Progress Notes and Incident report if required.

- Applicant must have patience and be a good listener. Be calm and confident in all different situations. If you are prone to becoming easily frustrated or upset, this role may not be the most suitable fit for you

- Be able to work flexible hours on a roster system.

- Workers working during the weekdays will be priortised for weekend shifts.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

- Current National Police Check

- Multiple years of experience in Disability Care will be highly regarded but not essential.

- NDIS Workers Orientation Module

- NDIS workers screening Check

- 100 points of ID

- WWC / BlueCard (If available)

- Infection Control (If available)

- First AID & CPR (If Available)

- Certificate 3 in individual support or Mental Health will be an advantageous.

- Must be able to work autonomously.

Other requirements:

- Driver’s licence

- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination (optional)

- Authority to Work in Australia

- Ability to work during weekdays and weekends.

- Applicant must be computer literate and must have a Smart Phone
