What you'll be doing
As a Sterilising Technician within the Operating Theatre, you will ensure surgical teams have timely access to sterile instruments and consumables to support safe and efficient procedures. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role suited to someone who thrives in structured, high-pressure environments.
* Reprocess reusable medical devices in line with manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards
* Prepare, assemble and supply surgical instruments and consumables for procedures
* Assist with the management and tracking of loan equipment
* Prioritise tasks and respond to urgent theatre demands in a fast-paced setting
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams while also operating independently when required

Essential Criteria:
* Qualification: Sterilisation certificate III
Selection Criteria:
1. Attainment of Sterilisation Services Certificate III with previous experience working in Endoscopy or Sterilising department
2. Sound understanding and knowledge of Infection Control requirements, standards AS/NZS4187 and ISO in a health care setting
3. Ability to work both independently and within the team, in a busy environment with changing priorities and work demands
4. Demonstrated communication skills. Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel / Word), and ordering consumables with Oracle inventory program
6. Knowledge and understanding of WH&S legislation and manual handling techniques to maintain safety of self and others within the workplace.
7. Physically capable of performing all duties, which includes handling chemicals, biological hazards, standing for long periods, lifting, pushing and pulling loads.
