Position Overview:
HII-Australia is looking for a motivated individual to join its local team as a
Project Security and Trades Controls Specialist
. This is a full-time position supporting a Canberra-based and Perth-based, team in Australia. The role is preferably based in
Canberra or remote-work
from a major metropolitan location.
This role will support the development of Australia's nuclear powered submarine enterprise working closely with HII in the US and local Australian HII leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
The
Project Security and Trades Controls Specialist
role will report to the Program Director and support the executive team leaders for the administration and management of personnel security and trades controls administration for the project. This role also has a functional reporting line to the Company Security Officer.
* Administrate personnel security requirements for a Defence contract requiring interface with US and Australian-based team members.
* Ensure program security compliance with Australian regulatory and company policy.
* Coordinate security administrative activities within the program.
* Provide detailed Trades Controls administrative support to the Program.
* Provide Trades Control advice to the Program Director and senior staff.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors.
* Security and Trades Controls compliance audit support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* 3-5+ years of experience as a Defence security and/or trades controls administrator.
* Qualification in relevant professional field.
* Defence Security and Trades Controls training and certification.
* Working knowledge of Australia Department of Defence Security policies.
* Working knowledge of US International Traffic in Arms Regulations and their application under AUKUS framework.
* Working knowledge of Australian Defence export regulations.
* If remote work outside of Canberra, willingness to undertake regular, planned travel to support program needs.
Desirable Experience:
* Experience working with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
* 3-5+ years of experience in a comparable role.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Defence Clearance:
* Must have a minimum "NV1" Defence Security Clearance.
* Willing to increase additional security clearance level pending requirements.
