Opportunity An exciting opportunity has presented for a Surfacing Estimator to join our Infrastructure Services team based in Townsville. Reporting to the Estimating Manager – Northern Queensland (NQ), you will support the team in expanding our work portfolio and project opportunities throughout NQ.
We are seeking a self-motivated professional, ideally with project management experience in the pre-contract space, with an estimating track record, or someone looking to expand their career in estimating and/or a site/project engineer seeking a career change.
Your contribution
* Undertaking first principles estimates for asphalt and spray seal works.
* Managing the tender process from start to finish.
* Reviewing all tender documentation.
* Co-ordinating and sending out subcontractor/supply pricing packages.
* Attending onsite tender briefings and site visits as required.
* Preparing risk and opportunity analysis strategies and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
* Good knowledge or experience of road surfacing (asphalt and/or spray seal) is highly regarded but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers across the industry.
* Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Knowledge of estimating software such as Benchmark or equivalent packages is highly regarded but not essential.
* Relevant Engineering, Business, Commerce or Construction Management qualifications are preferable but not essential.
