What You Will Be Working On
As the Procurement and Contracts Lead you will oversee strategic procurement initiatives within the City, crafting and executing plans aligned with the City's objectives. Your role involves providing expert advice on market trends and supplier relationships to senior stakeholders, fostering innovation and continuous improvement within the Procurement and Contracts team. You will monitor ongoing procurement processes, ensuring timely execution, transparent reporting, and risk mitigation. Driving end-to-end procurement solutions, your decisions will seamlessly integrate with the City's goals, resulting in substantial cost savings and enhanced value. Additionally, you will lead a compliance-oriented function area, establishing policies and procedures, ensuring operational excellence, and building positive relationships across the City. Through your leadership, you will inspire a culture of operational excellence, coaching your team to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions while persistently pursuing defined objectives. What Type of Person Will Be Successful
To excel in this role, you will have:
10. Tertiary qualification in law, public policy and eligible to be admitted as a practitioner.
11. Strong background in procurement and application of legal concepts to commercial contracts.
12. Experience in reading, interpreting and explaining legislation and governance principles and production of complex commercial contracts.
13. Knowledge of working with the Local Government Acts, Regulations and governance practices within the Public Sector.
14. Experience in resolution of complex high value / high risk disputes.
15. Exceptional leadership skills, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
16. Ability to build and nurture relationships with stakeholders.
