Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the development of high-quality speeches for the Chief Minister, including for Parliamentary Sittings, and for major keynote, ceremonial and community engagement events.
2. Liaise with ministerial offices, public sector agencies, external organisations and other stakeholders to research and develop speeches.
3. Maintain a record of all relevant documents, including final speeches and address.
4. Support the Office of the Chief Minister to engage with key stakeholders through the development of key papers and correspondence.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
1. Strong research and analytical skills and fluency across national and Northern Territory current affairs.
2. Demonstrated competency in speechwriting for a diverse range of stakeholders.
3. High level written communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate addresses.
4. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
5. High level of adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage pressure and change.
6. High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
7. Ability to work out of hours and to travel when required.
Desirable
1. Experience working in a political environment.
2. Knowledge of Ministerial Offices and Parliamentary roles, functions and protocols.
