Our client is a building contractor specialising in residential construction seeking to expand their design team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Building Designer or Documenter with a strong architectural background, proficient with AutoCAD and a solid understanding of building regulations and construction documentation including preparation of permit applications. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for this position as you will liaise with various stakeholders, authorities and clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare architectural drawings and documentation using AutoCAD
* Develop design concepts and detailed construction drawings
* Manage and prepare planning and building permit applications
* Liaise with councils, consultants, building surveyors and clients
* Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes and regulations
* Assist with coordination from concept through to approval
Skills & Experience
* Background in Building Design or Architecture
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
* Local residential building project experience (essential)
* Experience with renovation / refurbishment / extension projects (highly regarded)
* Experience with residential and/or commercial permit applications
* Strong knowledge of Australian building regulations and NCC requirements
* Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Registered Building Practitioner (Highly Regarded)
