The Alliance for Gambling Reform is a national advocacy organisation working to prevent and reduce gambling harm in Australia. We work with communities, local councils, and partner organisations to drive evidence-based reforms and strengthen protections for individuals, families, and communities impacted by gambling harm.
We do not seek to ban gambling. Rather, we advocate for effective regulation to minimise harmful industry practices and to ensure the voices of those affected by gambling harm are heard in policy and decision-making.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed individual to join our Board of Directors. This is primarily a remote position, with Board and Committee meetings conducted online via Microsoft Teams. One in-person Board meeting is held in Melbourne each year.
Board Directors play a vital governance role, providing strategic oversight, ensuring organisational sustainability, and supporting the CEO in delivering the organisation's mission.
Directors are appointed for a three-year term and may be eligible for reappointment for one additional term.
We are particularly interested in recruiting an early/mid-career Director with experience in marketing and communications. We strongly encourage applications from people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds to strengthen the diversity of perspectives on our Board.
We also welcome applications from people with lived experience of gambling harm and from individuals from communities that are underrepresented in governance, including First Nations people, people from multicultural, migrant and refugee backgrounds, and members of LGBTIQA+ communities.
Prior Board experience is welcome but not essential.
