The Role We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Store Manager who is a natural salesperson and a reliable operator. You won't just be "supervising"—you will be an active driver of sales, a mentor to the team, and a key guardian of our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Active Sales & Service: Lead from the front on the sales floor, assisting retail and trade customers with expert advice and tailored solutions.
* Lead Management: Proactively "chase" quotes and follow up on leads to maximize conversion and build a healthy sales pipeline.
* Operational Excellence: Support the Store Manager with opening/closing procedures, daily reporting, and ensuring the showroom is "customer-ready" at all times.
* Relationship Building: Develop long-term rapport with builders, tilers, and designers to ensure Discount Tile Warehouse is their first choice.
* Stock & Merchandising: Maintain high standards of showroom presentation and assist with stock management as required.
About You
* A Closer: You have a proven track record in retail sales (building supplies or flooring experience is a massive plus).
* Proactive: You don't wait for the phone to ring; you're comfortable picking it up to follow up on a quote.
* Reliable: You're someone we can trust with the keys, the alarm codes, and the responsibility of running the floor.
* Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using POS systems and basic software to manage orders and leads.
* Physically Fit: You are happy being on your feet and don't mind the "hands-on" nature of a tile showroom.
