The System Testing Engineer & Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and managing system-level testing activities, while also coordinating project deliverables, schedules, and cross-functional collaboration. This hybrid role ensures systems are rigorously validated while projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. System Testing (Technical Scope)
* Review and analyse system requirements, functional specifications, and design documentation.
* Develop test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for system integration and end-to-end validation.
* Execute manual and automated testing: functional, regression, performance, load, and security tests.
* Maintain test environments, tools, and test data to support system validation.
* Log, track, and re-test defects using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
* Provide quality metrics and reports to stakeholders, including go/no-go recommendations.
* Ensure compliance with Australian standards/regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, APRA, PCI DSS depending on industry).
B. Project Coordination (Delivery Scope)
* Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and tracking testing-related project milestones.
* Coordinate between development teams, QA testers, system engineers, and business stakeholders.
* Maintain and monitor project documentation, including risk registers, test schedules, and progress trackers.
* Organise and facilitate meetings, workshops, and status updates.
* Track resource allocation for testing and coordinate with vendors/partners if applicable.
* Act as a single point of contact for testing-related queries across project stakeholders.
* Ensure all deliverables align with budget, timeline, and scope requirements.
3. Collaboration & Communication
* Provide regular progress updates to Project Managers and Steering Committees.
* Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist in client demos and validation sessions.
4. Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
* Proven experience in system testing/QA with strong knowledge of test design, automation, and execution.
* Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project methodologies.
* Strong coordination and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in project tracking tools (MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Trello, or equivalent).
* Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.
5. Scope of Authority
* Validate and sign-off on system testing deliverables.
* Recommend release readiness based on testing outcomes.
* Escalate risks, delays, or critical issues to project leadership.
* Coordinate task allocation within the testing team and vendor partners.
