Communications and Engagement Co-ordinatorBe Council's primary connection to external stakeholders by managing and planning communications and community engagementMinimum Base Salary of $82,890.60 per annum + 12% superannuation contributionAttractive benefits packageAbout the RoleReporting to the CEO, this position has a key focus on promoting, supporting and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders within the Barcaldine Regional Council.We have an exciting opportunity within our council team for a dynamic Communications and Engagement Co-Ordinator who will facilitate community engagement with local residents, businesses and key stakeholders within Barcaldine Regional CouncilWe are looking for someone who can work with stakeholders using your skills in social media, writing, researching, content development, media releases and enquiries, and strategy development across a wide variety of communication channels.You should be able to edit and review communication material to ensure it complies with the council's style guide and applicable corporate standards and policies.Our successful candidate will be able to liaise with internal stakeholders, including Senior Management, to identify communication issues across the region and develop and implement proactive measures for issue management, as well as communication plans and activities.In this busy role we would expect the successful candidate being able to develop and implement engagement, communication and marketing campaigns (including market research, budget and resource management).This is a hands-on role with great opportunities to be involved in a number of diverse projects and events.Key Responsibilities:Develop and manage content for Council's website, social media platforms, and radio programs to align with communication objectives.Coordinate the production of Council's community and corporate publications.Prepare media releases and respond to media enquiries in consultation with the CEO.Produce, present, and assist with production and presentation of radio programs.Organise and facilitate community engagement activities in accordance with Council's Community Engagement Policy and the Local Government Act.Collaborate with the Senior Management Team and staff to ensure consistent, timely, and high-quality communications across various platforms.Ensure council's branding is consistently and appropriately applied across all communications and organisational materials.Maintain office systems, including registers, filing, and records management, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.Use computer systems and technology to efficiently execute responsibilities.Develop and review communication-related Council policies and procedures, and support staff in their application and compliance.Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring positive outcomes from interactions with Council.Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, community members, stakeholders, and media organisations.Identify and leverage communication opportunities to improve service delivery, engagement, and outcomes for stakeholders.Location:This position is based in Barcaldine with Regional Work and Travel as requiredClassification Level:Minimum Level 5.1 - Stream AWage: Minimum $82,890.60 per annum + 12% Superannuation ContributionPayment of Wages:Council employees are paid fortnightlyHours of work:72.5 Hours over a 9 Day fortnightLeave Entitlements: Five(5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading.Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annumEqual Opportunity:Barcaldine Regional Council is an equal opportunity employer, and all suitably qualified applicants are encouraged to applyWhat We Are Looking ForRelevant degree or diploma in Journalism, Community Engagement, Stakeholder Management, or a related field; or less formal qualifications with at least two (2) years of demonstrated industry experience.Proven ability to prepare and deliver verbal and written communications, including strong copywriting, editing, proofreading, and report-writing skills.Experience in managing and improving websites and social media platforms.Demonstrated ability to coordinate community engagement activities and meetings.Strong organisational and time management skills, with experience using electronic record-keeping systems.Demonstrated ability to network with a diverse range of community sectors (e.g. multicultural, youth, elderly, community groups, and organisations).Experience in planning and delivering projects, programs and events.Digits only or add + for international numbersStreet *Street Cont.City, Town or Suburb *Postcode or Zipcode *Country *State, Region or Province *LinkedIn URL(Please click on your profile and copy the URL from your profile page.)QuestionsDo you have the right to work in Australia?
