About the Role

The Projects Group is responsible for developing, delivering and assuring project-related changes and improvements across the regional rail network.

The Group coordinates, integrates and delivers major projects and network change in a safe, collaborative and innovative manner, enabling V/Line to shape the improvement and modernisation of V/Line’s regional transport service.

About You

As the Business Intelligence Analyst, you will build and maintain tools, dashboards, and applications that make reporting simple, automated, and easy to understand. You will create visualisations that track project progress, highlight updates, and support decision making through accurate reporting and analysis. Your work will directly influence how projects are understood, monitored and delivered.

In this role, you will:

* Transform project data into clear, meaningful dashboards and automated reports

* Communicate insights around time, cost, risk and performance in a way that drives action

* Present analysis to diverse stakeholders and translate feedback into improved reporting solutions

* Develop and maintain SharePoint sites and Power Platform tools that enhance visibility and transparency

* Partner closely with planners and project teams to support reliable programming and delivery

About you

You’re the crucial link between complex project data and the stakeholders who depend on it to make informed decisions. You thrive on transforming information into clear, meaningful insights that drive outcomes.

You are a confident communicator who can:

* Explain complex technical information in simple, practical terms

* Build trust with a wide range of stakeholders

* Adapt your communication style to suit different audiences

* Manage expectations while balancing competing priorities

Technically, you bring:

* Advanced Microsoft Power Platform skills (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)

* Strong analytical capability and data visualisation experience

* A commitment to accuracy, quality and continuous improvement

To be considered for entry into the selection process for this role, applicants must meet the following 'key selection criteria' which forms part of our merit-based recruitment process:

1. Tertiary qualification in an IT or business-related discipline.

2. Experience working with general data warehousing, data flows and SharePoint Lists.

3. Experience in SQL.

4. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, and the ability to manage the expectations of a range of diverse stakeholders and demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines.

5. Certifications in data visualisation or data science are desirable.

6. Experience working on project-based entities (desirable).

7. Experience using Python and Primavera P6 (desirable).

The selection process may include aptitude assessments and a behavioural interview.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $142,000 to $160,000 (inclusive of super), aligned to the skills, experience, and capability the successful candidate brings to the role.
