The Manager, SPA provides leadership to a small and high performing team of Advisors and Data Analysts who monitor and report on the performance of the NDIS investment and the effectiveness of the care and support sectors from the perspective of the Queensland Government, the community and sector and, most importantly, Queenslanders with disability who rely upon the delivery of high quality and secure services. You will use your in-depth knowledge of human services sectors and the lived experience of people with disability in advising on policy and program positions related to people with disability, their families and carers, and service providers.

- Critically analyse the performance of the NDIS and other human services, build a body of evidence in relation to systemic issues and provide authoritative and strategic advice in relation to the NDIS and the broader care and support sector.
- Liaise with mainstream agencies, the NDIA, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and Commonwealth Government to ensure strategic insights and emerging risks and issues related to the NDIS in Queensland are escalated to the Queensland NDIS Executive Steering Committee and other governance forums as appropriate.
- Undertake evidence based systemic advocacy to resolve issues with the Commonwealth Government and the NDIA.
- Lead governance activities to support the Deputy Director-General, Disability Services to participate as co-chair of the Queensland NDIS Executive Steering Committee and in other key governance and intergovernmental forums.
- Maintain the currency and relevance of the Queensland NDIS Assurance Framework and report outcomes to Queensland Government.
- Oversee the delivery of data management and reporting and the delivery of datainformed insights that can be used to inform strategic decision making.
- Use data visualisation and reporting tools and software to convey complex data analysis in formats that can be easily used by a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and sector representatives.
- Be responsive to emerging disability and other sector priorities, including reform design and implementation, and provide expert advice on the potential impacts of policy and program scope changes.
- Represent the department at appropriate networks and meetings, including at community and non-government provider forums and networks.
- Develop, implement and guide performance management strategies to manage team performance and develop professional development strategies across all workforce functions of the team.
- Lead and implement team wide business improvement strategies and commit to continuous improvement by identifying operational and strategic opportunities for improving performance of the team.
