CGC are seeking a number of candidates for fixed plant supervisor/operator role based on a 2:2 roster on a 12 month max term contract.
Responsibilities
* Hands-on role, operating, maintaining and supporting plant optimisation as part of the 24-hour operations of a remote ore sorting facility.
* Accountability for operational performance, equipment availability, site compliance, and some personnel management.
* Serve as a vital part of an existing team, liaising with mine contractors and the Perth head office, with a strong focus on ensuring excellent operational performance, safety, and reliability.
Key Tasks
Operations
* Responsible for varied daily operation and maintenance tasks.
* Ensure safe and efficient operation of all sorting plant components, including conveyors, sensor sorters, generators, compressors, dust management components and associated systems.
* Assist in the supervision of a small team, supporting the management of work schedules, task delegation, and on-the-job performance, as required.
* Work as part of a high-performance team culture - focused on client accountability, team safety, and continuous plant improvement.
Plant Performance & Technical Competence
* Understand and assist in the measurement of production targets, equipment throughput, yield, and recovery metrics.
* Participate in daily operations and shutdowns in line with production and maintenance plans.
* Assist with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and first-line response to plant issues.
* Work closely with the technical and engineering team to support the implementation of plant improvements and system upgrades.
Maintenance & Asset Management
* Support the maintenance of schedules and assist to forecast and stock spare parts and critical consumables, as required from time to time.
* Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing of mechanical, electrical, and sensor based equipment.
* Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of failures and propose practical engineering or operational solutions.
Reporting, Communication & Administration
* Draft operational reports as may be required, regarding production performance, downtime analysis, and safety observations.
* Liaise between site and head office as required, ensuring clear communication of plant issues, improvements, and requirements.
* Assist to manage contractors as required.
* Maintain shift logs, inspection records, and contribute to operational documentation and SOP development.
Site Services & Logistics
* Coordination Coordinate with relevant parties to support the continuous supply of site services, including
* ROM crushed and screened feed stockpile and plant feed strategies
* Diesel fuel for gensets and mobile equipment
* Process and dust suppression water
* Product and waste removal coordination
* Waste disposal and general consumables
* Ensure supporting services are maintained in accordance with plant production requirements.
Essential Skills
* Demonstrated senior operator experience in a processing or remote site operation.
* Experience with ore sorting technologies.
* High degree of self-management and developing leadership in isolated FIFO environments.
* Hands-on skills in mechanical or process operations; sound working knowledge of maintenance practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write professional reports and interface confidently with Perth-based management.
* Proficient in digital tools such as Excel, logbooks, and maintenance systems (e.g. MEX, Pronto).
* Proactive and solution-focused mindset with strong task ownership and team attitude.
The role will be on a permanent 2:2 roster and will be offering circa $85-92 per hour + superannuation.
