About The Position
One of our operating companies, Centrered, is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team in Canberra.
The Financial Controller will provide strategic input into the overall business direction, maintaining a keen focus on optimising finance processes through AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency whilst ensuring commercial outcomes throughout the business.
You will work closely with the private equity team, acting as a trusted business partner and play a central role in leading one-on-one meetings and overseeing professional development planning for your direct reports. In doing so, you will cultivate a culture of growth, accountability and continuous improvement within the finance team.
Responsibilities
Owning the end-to-end finance function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and general ledger managementLead EOS principles within the businessPreparing and analysing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysisSupporting the month-end close process and ensuring accuracy of all financial dataPreparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts and cash flow projectionsProviding clear financial insights and commentary to support business performance and decision-makingAssisting with compliance activities, including audit preparation and tax submissionsPartnering with operational and commercial teams to analyse costs, pricing and marginsSupporting tender and pricing analysis to inform commercial decisionsIdentifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracySupporting system improvements and assisting with financial system migrations or upgradesDeveloping and monitoring key performance indicators and financial metricsAssisting in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with external accountants as requiredContributing to business improvement initiatives, process controls and financial governance frameworks
Skills Required
A minimum of 7 years of experience, preferably in a fast paced environmentRelevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldDemonstrated experience in strategic finance and commercial business partneringCA or equivalentBusiness Central experience is desirableExceptional interpersonal communication skills
