General Manager Role

Location
Crowne Plaza Hobart located in the city centre has 241 rooms including restaurants and large conferencing facilities. The hotel opened its doors in 2020 and welcomes both leisure and corporate clients to the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the owner as a partner and manage day‑to‑day operations of this full‑service hotel.
- Lead, empower and build on the strengths of the management team to ensure all functions operate effectively so guests are offered a 1st‑class product and a reliable, consistent experience.
- Establish clear performance goals for employees, provide regular feedback and facilitate the development of high‑potential individuals to build a robust talent pipeline.
- Act as Brand Ambassador, placing the brand at the centre of all communications, marketing initiatives and actions.
- Use the InterContinental brand promise and guiding principles, market knowledge and social media; work with the Sales and Marketing team to provide a clear strategy while challenging them to think of ways to beat the competition.
- Balance short‑term actions and decisions with longer‑term impact on the business to drive revenue, future profitability and deliver maximum return on investment for owner’s equity.
