About The Role
The Deputy Principal of Belonging and Engagement will lead strategic initiatives to enhance student well‑being, engagement, and achievement. Key responsibilities include:
* Building staff capability to connect curriculum intent with pedagogical practices to engage all learners effectively.
* Collaboratively developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs, such as PBL and Berry Street, to support well‑being and engagement for students and staff.
* Monitoring and tracking attendance, behaviour, and achievement data for junior secondary cohorts to inform targeted interventions.
* Leading and managing Heads of Department and Engagement Support Staff to ensure alignment between pedagogy and curriculum plans, while supporting consistent implementation of the school's pedagogical approach, including PBL, indigenous perspectives, Classroom Profiling, ESCM, and Pedagogical practices.
The role also involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth through:
* Support the school's collegial engagement framework and setting personal goals (SPG).
* Leading Junior School student data analysis to achieve key performance targets, including attendance, academic outcomes, and behaviour.
* Managing student engagement initiatives, such as Tier 3 behaviour management, the Student Engagement Centre, while ensuring consistent application of the Student Code of Conduct.
* Lead and facilitate school transition processes within the junior school.
