A Vacancy at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.As part of a major investment programme at Ipswich Hospital, agreement has been given for significant investments to deliver a transformative model for inpatient medical and older persons care.Key features include:Appropriately resourced 7-day consultant workingStrengthened GIM rota, improving workload distribution and reducing the burden on cliniciansInnovation in patient care and service delivery, ensuring timely access to the right clinicianEarly access to specialist adviceFocus on delivering improved quality of care and sustainable consultant job plansWe seek a full-time Consultant in Acute Medicine to support this new medical inpatient model, embracing technological advances and contributing to our evolving multi-specialty team.Our Enhanced Welcome package includes an additional £20,000 and relocation costs.The Department of Acute Medicine, located at Ipswich Site, works within the Division of Medicine. The team currently includes seven consultants working in a modern Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU). The department aims to provide efficient, friendly, and evolving emergency services.The post involves working closely with departments of Specialty Medicine, Surgery, and Diagnostic Imaging to assess all medical emergencies, requiring excellent communication skills.We are undergoing a £150 million development programme, transforming care services for the 1 million people in Suffolk and North East Essex. New facilities include a state-of-the-art Urgent Treatment Centre, a new Emergency Department opening in Summer 2024, and various specialist units and assessment bases.ESNEFT is adopting Epic as its Electronic Patient Record system, aiming to enhance clinical pathways and processes.Our philosophy is: Time Matters.
