Your Role
Step into a pivotal role at IAG where your analysis and strategic thinking will help shape the future of insurance. As a Specialist within the Group Chief Underwriting Office, you'll focus on identifying and analysing Emerging Insurance Risks & Opportunities (EIROs) and driving insight-led Strategic Portfolio Management.
You'll be at the forefront of scanning the horizon for future risks—from climate volatility to cyber disruption—and translating complex research into clear, actionable insights for IAG's senior leaders. Your work will directly inform group strategy, influence portfolio direction, and help embed long-term resilience into our business.
In parallel, you'll support the development and oversight of IAG's Group Portfolio Management approach, ensuring that portfolio composition and performance are aligned with strategic objectives. You'll deliver research, analysis, and executive-ready reporting to guide decisions and strengthen risk governance across the enterprise.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney).
About You
1. At least 5 years' experience in a strategy, actuarial or performance analysis role.
2. Good knowledge of the insurance industry.
3. Strong understanding of the drivers of insurer financial performance.
4. Excellent analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to analyse data and synthesise and develop findings to support management decision making.
5. Strong commercial acumen.
6. Awareness of changing technology/customer/insurance trends
7. Good interpersonal and influencing skills.
8. Well-developed report writing and communication skills.
9. Able to lead projects and manage complex stakeholder relations independently.
10. Able to learn new skills, adapt, and create value through experimentation.
11. Relevant Tertiary qualifications e.g. Actuarial, Finance, Insurance.
12. Relevant industry qualifications e.g.: ANZIIF.
