Job Title: Decarbonisation Engineering Leader
About the Role
This Building Services Engineering Consultancy supports large Commercial Real Estate owners with building portfolio decarbonisation. We offer a range of services, including surveying properties, conducting energy surveys and audits, providing technical advice on decarbonising buildings, developing mechanical engineering (MEP) designs, and project managing M&E building services upgrades.
We are seeking a hands-on MEP Design Manager to lead from the front while managing a small team of engineers.
The successful candidate will report to the Managing Director and be based in an office in Euston and on client sites.
The role involves managing a team, as well as performing hands-on engineering responsibilities. Duties include:
* Managing profit and loss for the Building Services Design business
* Liaising with client stakeholders to develop bespoke solutions
* Developing commercially sound client proposals
* Creating project, resource, and budget plans
* Prioritising projects and resources to meet deadlines
* Conducting detailed surveys of buildings to identify energy efficiency opportunities
* Preparing energy audit/review reports and recommendations
* Performing building analysis using simulation software
* Developing conceptual and detailed Mechanical Services designs
* Creating decarbonisation plans for existing buildings
* Preparing GHG emissions reports
* Performing feasibility studies for renewable power and heat
* Developing financial models for building services upgrade projects
* Overseeing building services upgrade and refurbishment projects
* Delivering ESOS assessments
* Conducting Non-Domestic EPCs up to Level 5
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, MEP design capability, a strong work ethic, and a passion for decarbonising the built environment.
They should have a degree in mechanical engineering, building services, or a similar field, with experience in developing mechanical building services designs and conducting surveys of Mechanical & Electrical Building services.
Strong commercial acumen and experience managing an M&E design team are essential.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and competence in using IESVE building modelling software are required.
In return, the candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from £90k-£120k (dependent on experience), along with 25 days of annual leave and pension benefits.
