Overview

The Program Support Officer will provide high-level program, project, and executive support to the Digital Transformation Program within the Northern Territory Police Force (NTPF).

This role is critical in supporting digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving community safety and operational capability across government agencies. The position operates within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and contributes to governance, coordination, and strategic delivery functions.

Key Responsibilities
Program & Executive Support
* Provide high-level administrative and program support to senior executives.
* Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and collate briefing materials.
* Maintain accurate records of decisions, discussions, and governance activities.
Reporting & Documentation
* Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, submissions, and correspondence.
* Support executive decision-making through clear, structured documentation.
Project & Strategy Support
* Assist in the development and implementation of digital transformation initiatives.
* Support projects arising from Cabinet directives, corporate plans, and governance boards.
* Monitor program progress, dependencies, and alignment across multiple initiatives.
Policy & Research
* Undertake research and contribute to policy development and analysis.
* Support implementation and evaluation of government initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide clear, impartial advice to senior executives and project teams.
Team Contribution
* Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff.
* Contribute ideas and continuous improvement initiatives within the program.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience preparing executive-level documentation and reports.
* Ability to work effectively in a diverse and collaborative environment.
Requirements
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Experience within government or public sector environments.
* Familiarity with digital transformation or governance frameworks.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
* Self-motivated with strong initiative and positive attitude.
* Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity.
* Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement capabilities
