Job Overview
We are seeking a senior educational leader to fill the role of Head of School at our Queensland campus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the school, with a focus on delivering high-quality educational experiences for students.
Responsibilities
* Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to ensure the effective operation of the school, aligning with our organisational goals and values.
* School Improvement: Drive school improvement processes to achieve academic, wellbeing, and vocational outcomes that meet student needs.
* Teacher Support: Develop and mentor teachers and youth workers to enhance their practice and integrate our wellbeing philosophy and vocational framework.
* Funding and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Federal and State Government funding arrangements and maintain accurate records of student census data.
Requirements
* Qualifications: Current Registered Teaching Qualifications, Post Graduate qualifications in Education and/or Educational Leadership.
* Experience: Significant and successful leadership experience in a Secondary Educational setting of at least 3 years.
* Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of educational challenges facing disengaged young people, innovative methods needed to help them achieve wellbeing, academic, and vocational outcomes, and ability to develop and maintain an organisational culture based on Y-Care staff enable culture and Y mission and values.
* Certifications: Complete a National and/or International Police Check prior to employment and at the discretion of the Y, currently possess or be willing to obtain a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, and achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.
* Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with students, including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
