Customer Service Officer – Helpdesk / Switchboard
Location: Fiona Stanley Hospital – Murdoch, Western Australia
Employment type: Part-time (2 shifts a week, 38 hours a fortnight)
Salary: $34.43 per hour / $68,025.41 per year + super (penalty rates apply)
Join our Serco team in Murdoch. This is a customer-facing role within the Helpdesk and Communications team, supporting essential services in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and courteously to requests via phone, email and in-person
- Coordinate and monitor service requests to ensure efficient workflows
- Manage hospital emergencies and escalate issues as needed
- Record and update data in line with policies and procedures
- Support work order scheduling and tracking to ensure seamless facilities management delivery
- Collaborate with colleagues across Facility Management to provide an exceptional patient and staff experience
What you’ll be doing
- Be part of a dedicated team of customer service professionals, supporting the Hospital and broader healthcare community
- Answer and action requests across multiple channels while maintaining composure under pressure
- Provide first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications & Attributes
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Calm, professional approach during high-stress or emergency situations
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-focused environment
- High attention to detail and accurate data entry
- Desirable: experience in healthcare, call centre, or KPI-driven environments
