About The Team
The Infrastructure Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining all mechanical and electrical infrastructure for the City. This role is in the water and wastewater section of the business.
About Your New Role
As an Infrastructure Maintenance electrician with the City you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance and repair of the water and waste water electrical assets, consisting of: lighting, pumps, power reticulation, electrical control systems, emergency power generation, telemetry and instrumentation.
This will include ensuring that all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner and within the guidelines of relevant policies and procedures.
At times related investigations and condition assessments may also be undertaken. Experience working in an industrial electrical environment would be beneficial to this role.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Undertaking electrical and instrumentation repairs and maintenance duties (hands-on)
* Ensuring all electrical work undertaken is compliant with AS3000, Qld Electrical Safety Act & Regulations, Electrical Safety Act Codes of Practice and WH&S Act
* Assisting in the development and training of apprentices
* Identifying areas and actions within the planned maintenance scope that will improve the economic and operational life of plant and equipment
* Participating in the After Hours on Call Roster
* Working overtime as required
We're Looking For People Who Have
* Certificate III Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Equivalent Knowledge (Mandatory)
* Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation or Equivalent Knowledge (Desirable)
* Unrestricted C Class Driver's Licence (Mandatory)
* General Construction Induction White Card (Desirable)
* Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* The ability to be part of a high performing team, working in line with internal policies and practices, including employment equity, workplace health and safety, and corporate values
* Self-motivation and the ability to get the job done right with limited supervision
* The ability to manage resources effectively to achieve organisation goals and meet deadlines
* Initiative and sound judgement with an ability to contribute to projects and initiatives
* A track record of ensuring that all work is performed to meet quality, safety, environmental and legislative requirements
* The physical capability to attain and maintain confined spaces certification and relevant machinery licences
* Highly developed organisational skills in a utility-based environment
* An understanding of the technical requirements within a water and wastewater environment
* The ability to understand and use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
