About the Role
The role of Intensivist is to deliver safe, patient centred, evidence based and efficient care for Intensive Care.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‐quality inpatient critical care, including ICU management, consultative services, and after‐hours on‐call responsibilities.
* Coordinate safe, efficient, and patient‐centred care, ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Contribute to clinical governance through audit, quality improvement, risk management, and adherence to national standards and organisational policies.
* Engage in research, education, and continuous professional development, including teaching, publications, and mandatory training.
* Demonstrate clinical leadership by supporting, supervising, and educating junior staff while fostering teamwork and a respectful workplace culture.
* Ensure compliance with information management, documentation standards, and occupational health & safety requirements, including incident reporting and risk mitigation.
What We're Looking For
* Medical degree with eligibility for AHPRA registration and Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM).
* Demonstrated expertise in intensive care, including management of cardiac surgical patients.
* Commitment to service development and delivering patient‐ and family‐centred care within the ICU and broader community.
