Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeA$75,000.00/yr - A$80,000.00/yrAs a Junior WHS Coordinator, you will play a key role in driving the development, implementation, and ongoing management of WHS policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with Australian WHS legislation.
This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, offering practical, real-time solutions for effective WHS management.
Your responsibilities will include crafting, reviewing, and updating WHS policies across the organisation to stay aligned with current legislation.In collaboration with cross-functional teams and reporting directly to the P&C Advisor, you will develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the factory and warehouse.
You'll conduct regular risk assessments and WHS audits to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Additionally, you will lead ongoing training initiatives, enhancing WHS compliance and competency for all employees in both the warehouse and factory environments.QualificationsA diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of proven experience in a similar roleFull working rights in AustraliaExperience in WHS role for a manufacturing companyFamiliarity with iAuditor or similar online safety systems.Knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes.First Aid certificationResponsibilitiesAssist in the review, development, and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring alignment with ISO standards.Support the R&D Director and relevant stakeholders in ensuring compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and standards, including the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.Assist managers with incident investigations, including the analysis of root causes and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Assist in the development and delivery of WHS training to new and existing employees.Promote awareness of WHS policies and procedures through regular communication and training sessions.Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.Support the Factory Managers in coordinating emergency response plans and drills.Stay updated on legislations and promote a positive safety culture of continuous improvements.Assist in the coordination and management of return to work programs for injured employees.Provide support in injury management, including liaising with healthcare providers, insurers, and injured workers.Ensure compliance with workers' compensation regulations and company policies.Maintain and accurately update the online safety system iAuditor.Update and manage the annual WHS calendar and organize related events.Support the Quality Control Manager with ISO audit accreditation processes.About usSchréder is a leading provider of global lighting solutions, serving customers across the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
